Kemenekraf and BDD Collaborate to Empower Women through AI

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in processing big data during a recent meeting at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta. According to Antara, Irene stated that AI could accelerate the objectives of the 'Emak-Emak Matic' program.

"The use of AI in big data processing can expedite the achievement of the 'Emak-Emak Matic' program's goals," she said. Based on information from Antara, she also stressed the importance of live data in supporting national GDP growth and job creation.

The meeting was attended by Yuana Rochma Astuti, Director of Digital Content, and Yuke Sri Rahayu, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design. According to Antara, Yuana mentioned that the 'Emak-Emak Matic' program aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to empowering women.

"This program facilitates collaboration among participants, local communities, and business actors in each city," Yuana explained. As reported by Antara, the program has already been launched in Bandung and Yogyakarta.

Yuricho Billy, Head of Community Development at Boleh Dicoba Digital (BDD), also participated in the discussion. Based on Antara's report, he expressed optimism about adding value to the creative economy sector through this program.

"Indonesia is not just about muscle but also about brainpower for creativity and adding value," Yuricho said. He emphasized the potential to foster pride in local products by creating narratives of 'created by Indonesia.'

The 'Emak-Emak Matic' program is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to empower women through technology. As reported by Antara, this initiative has been introduced in two cities and aims to increase collaboration among participants and local communities.

The Ministry also sees AI as a tool to improve program effectiveness and promote the development of Indonesia’s creative economy.
