Promedia Teknologi Indonesia (PTI), in collaboration with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), successfully hosted the BRI Journalism 360 event in Palembang, South Sumatra, on December 17-18, 2024. This event marked the second destination of the series, following its inaugural session in Semarang, Central Java, on October 23-24, 2024.
The BRI Journalism 360 event comprises two main programs: BRI CoreLab and MIND ID Mediapreneur Talks.
BRI CoreLab at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang
On December 17, 2024, as part of the BRI CoreLab program, Promedia visited UIN Raden Fatah Palembang to conduct media training and engage in discussions about the world of content creation with students. The training featured various materials designed to provide new insights into the media and content business in Indonesia, serving as valuable preparation for students' future careers.
The event featured speakers such as Promedia CEO Agus Sulistriyono, Promedia Media Network GM Agil Hari Santoso, and Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UIN Raden Fatah, Prof. Dr. Abdur Razzaq, MA.
As the host, Prof. Dr. Abdur Razzaq, MA, expressed appreciation and gratitude to Promedia for organizing BRI CoreLab at UIN Raden Fatah. He emphasized the importance for students to understand the world of content creation, which can be beneficial for their future careers.
In the same session, CEO Agus Sulistriyono highlighted a significant opportunity in content creation skills. He noted that the information business will never die; rather, the mediums or platforms will continue to evolve.
MIND ID Mediapreneur Talks at Hotel Aston Palembang
On December 18, 2024, Promedia organized the MIND ID Mediapreneur Talks at Hotel Aston Palembang. This seminar was designed to provide the latest insights into the media business to journalists, content creators, and media entrepreneurs.
The talk show featured three experienced speakers in the media industry: Promedia CEO Agus Sulistriyono, Props CEO Ilona Juwita, and Coordinator of Training and Quality Journalism Programs at the Publisher Rights Committee, Fransiskus Surdiasis.
During the session, Agus Sulistriyono encouraged media professionals in Palembang to build quality media, not just own media without a clear vision. He explained that the establishment of PT Promedia Teknologi Indonesia began with the initiative to develop a professional and sustainable media business.
Ilona Juwita, CEO of Props, highlighted that media consumption in Indonesia is currently dominated by social media, with approximately 185 million internet users (66.5% of the total population).
Meanwhile, Fransiskus Surdiasis explained that one of the objectives of Publisher Rights is to create a fair digital media ecosystem in Indonesia, enabling the economic capacity of news media to develop well, quality journalism, and a healthy public space and democracy.
These sessions provided valuable insights and discussions for media professionals and students, contributing to the development of the media and content creation industry in Indonesia.
