Founder of MORA Group, Andhy Irawan, Receives Hospitality Award

At the 15th Indonesia Travel and Tourism Awards (ITTA) held on December 17, 2024, at Swissotel Jakarta PIK Avenue, Andhy Irawan, Founder and CEO of MORA Group, was honored with the prestigious Indonesia Top Hospitality Leader award. This accolade acknowledges his exceptional contributions to Indonesia's tourism and hospitality industry over a distinguished career spanning more than 35 years.

The ITTA Foundation, established in 2010, aims to foster growth and development in Indonesia's tourism sector. The Indonesia Top Hospitality Leader award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated dedication, leadership, and innovation within the industry. Recipients undergo a rigorous selection process, including assessments of their professional experience and impact. With over three decades in the field, Andhy Irawan not only met but exceeded these criteria.

Expressing his gratitude, Andhy stated, "This award is not just for me but for the entire MORA Group team who have worked diligently to set new standards in the hospitality industry. It is proof that innovation and hard work can bring about real change."

A visionary leader, Andhy holds a Master of Business Administration in Hospitality from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Cornell University in New York. Throughout his career, he has successfully built and managed both national and international hotels, positively impacting local communities surrounding the properties under his management.

Under Andhy's leadership, MORA Group has experienced significant growth since its official launch on July 31, 2024. The company manages a diverse portfolio of hotel brands, including MORAZEN in Surabaya and Yogyakarta, which focuses on elegant luxury; Lamora, offering an economy-plus concept; HEMORA, known for its modern minimalist design; and Muslim-friendly brands such as Grand Qin and Qin Hotel in Banjarbaru. Additionally, MORA Group has expanded its global reach through a partnership with Japan's Select Hotel Group, introducing international standards and memorable experiences for guests.

MORA Group is also committed to sustainability through its MORA Impact initiative, an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program focusing on environmental conservation, community empowerment, and service innovation. One notable activity includes engaging with students in Kulon Progo as part of their community reading program.

The 15th ITTA ceremony was attended by prominent industry leaders, government officials, and tourism professionals from across Indonesia. Andhy Irawan's recognition as Indonesia's Top Hospitality Leader highlights his inspiring career and reinforces his credibility in delivering quality service standards in the hospitality sector.

Originally from Jember, Andhy currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Tourism Consultant Federation. He hopes that this award will further solidify MORA Group's position as a key player in Indonesia's hospitality industry. "We will continue to move forward by upholding the values of innovation, sustainability, and exceptional service for our guests. I hope this award inspires the younger generation to pursue careers in the hospitality industry," he concluded.
