DANA Expands Cash Withdrawal Options Across Indonesia

In recent years, digital wallets have become a transformative force in Indonesia's financial landscape, reshaping how consumers make payments. This shift is evident as digital wallet usage expands from bustling urban centers to smaller towns, fostering a cashless society that offers convenience and efficiency.

In line with the Financial Inclusion Month initiated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), DANA is making strides to enhance its services, aiming to meet the diverse needs of users across the archipelago. The company recently announced a partnership with PT Abadi Tambah Mulia Internasional (ATMi), significantly expanding cash withdrawal options. With over 9,000 ATMs now available across Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara, DANA is set to improve financial accessibility for many Indonesians.

Darrick Rochili, Chief Innovation Officer at DANA Indonesia, emphasized the importance of collaboration in enhancing financial services. “It’s time for digital wallets and independent ATM networks like ATMi to work together to provide extensive financial access to the people of Indonesia,” he stated. The integration between DANA and ATMi, which allows users to perform cardless cash withdrawals, is a significant step toward inclusivity.

ATMi's President Director, Rudy Hadi, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the organization’s mission to create a reliable independent ATM network. “To achieve this mission, we recognize the need for partnerships with various industries, including DANA,” he explained. The collaboration between DANA and ATMi aims to leverage both organizations' strengths, offering users a seamless and secure experience for cash withdrawals.

With ATMi operating over 9,000 ATMs, a notable 74% are strategically located in satellite cities and rural areas. This distribution aligns with DANA’s goal of serving underbanked populations, ensuring that even those in remote regions have access to essential financial services. ATMi’s presence in retail outlets like Alfamart and Indomaret further enhances accessibility, allowing users to withdraw cash with ease.

Rangga Wiseno, Director of Business at ALTO, which supports ATMi, expressed enthusiasm for this partnership. “We believe our commitment to innovative payment solutions will enhance convenience for users looking for cardless cash withdrawal services,” he noted.

To incentivize users, DANA and ATMi are currently offering free cash withdrawal fees for DANA balances until December 31, 2024. This initiative aims to encourage users, particularly in rural areas where concerns about additional costs may deter them from using digital wallets. By eliminating these fees, DANA hopes to foster trust and increase engagement with its services.

Users can access this new cash withdrawal feature through the DANA app. By selecting the ‘Transfer’ section and choosing ‘Cash Withdrawal’ followed by ‘ATMi,’ users can input their desired amount and locate nearby ATMi ATMs using the DANA Nearby feature. The process is designed to be user-friendly, guiding customers through cardless transactions with clear on-screen instructions.

This collaboration not only expands DANA’s cash withdrawal options but also seeks to improve overall accessibility for all users, including those without traditional bank accounts. As digital wallets continue to gain traction, partnerships like that of DANA and ATMi represent a significant step toward fostering financial inclusion in Indonesia.
