Telkom Launches AIcosystem to Boost AI Adoption Across Indonesia’s Key Industry Sectors

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk officially launched AIcosystem, an integrated artificial intelligence ecosystem that brings together AI capabilities across TelkomGroup to support AI adoption in various sectors and deliver solutions for industry and society (04/06).

The initiative was launched by Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini, Telkom IT Digital Director Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, and Special Presidential Envoy for Youth Development and Arts Workers Raffi Ahmad in Jakarta.

Through AIcosystem, Telkom aims to strengthen its position as Indonesia’s End-to-End AI Ecosystem Enabler by developing AI capabilities spanning infrastructure, platforms, solutions, and applications.

Telkom Integrates AI Capabilities Through AIcosystem

AIcosystem was created in response to the rapid growth of digital adoption and artificial intelligence technology in Indonesia.

The ecosystem integrates AI capabilities across TelkomGroup to support broader AI utilization and provide solutions tailored to the needs of industries and communities.

According to Dian Siswarini, AIcosystem reflects Telkom’s commitment to positioning AI as a foundation for digital transformation that delivers tangible value for Indonesia.

The initiative also positions TelkomGroup as a collaborator and bridge for communities seeking to maximize AI in business activities and daily life.

“AI is not only a technological advancement of today, but a new foundation for digital transformation that needs to be built collaboratively and sustainably. With AIcosystem, we unite all of TelkomGroup’s AI strengths so that Indonesia has a solid, integrated AI ecosystem capable of creating real impact for society, businesses, and national competitiveness,” said Dian.

AI Center of Excellence Drives Talent and Innovation Development

AIcosystem is designed to orchestrate TelkomGroup’s capabilities under a unified strategic direction to deliver more relevant and value-added solutions.

Through the ecosystem, AI initiatives previously developed independently by each operating company can now be connected and aligned to create scalable innovations for corporations, government institutions, and society.

The ecosystem includes AI portfolios from Telkom AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE), Telkomsel AI, Neutra Compute from NeutraDC, AI Infomedia, AI Digiserve, and Telkom University.

As one of the key drivers of the AI ecosystem, the Telkom AI Center of Excellence operates through five pillars: AI Campus, AI Playground, AI Connect, AI Hub, and AI Native.

These pillars are designed to encourage broader AI adoption through talent development, collaboration, and the creation of impactful solutions.

AI Campus focuses on collaboration with academic institutions for talent development and AI research. AI Playground provides a space for developers and communities to explore and utilize AI.

AI Connect links universities, industries, communities, and Telkom within a collaborative ecosystem. AI Hub accelerates the transformation of ideas and experiments into ready-to-use solutions, while AI Native promotes AI implementation within TelkomGroup’s internal operations.

Full-Stack AI Approach Supports Secure and Scalable Solutions

Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi stated that AIcosystem differs from other AI initiatives through its end-to-end full-stack AI approach.

“AIcosystem is built with a full-stack approach, so TelkomGroup not only delivers solutions in the form of applications, but also strengthens its AI foundation through infrastructure, data, models, and platforms. This approach enables solutions that are more secure with layered security, scalable, and relevant to business needs and public services in Indonesia. TelkomGroup is ready to support all future AI adoption and solution requirements,” he said.

The full-stack approach consists of three main layers: AI Infrastructure, AI Models & Platforms, and AI Solutions & Applications.

On the infrastructure side, Telkom provides data centers, GPUs, CPUs, and memory as the foundation for AI computing.

Within AI Models & Platforms, the company develops AI platforms, big data platforms, data aggregators, and Large Language Models (LLMs) that include Bahasa Indonesia support.

The solutions and applications layer includes AI use cases designed for industry-specific and public service needs.

AI Solutions Reach Multiple Strategic Sectors

TelkomGroup’s AI solutions have been utilized across education, government, transportation, energy and oil and gas, finance, logistics, telecommunications, and manufacturing sectors.

Several institutions and major companies have adopted these solutions in their operations. Implementations include pricing analytics, traffic management, HR profiling analytics, AI legal document review, and AI-based infrastructure planning.

In the education sector, Telkom’s Pijar platform uses AI to help teachers assess essays more quickly and consistently, supporting productivity improvements.

AIcosystem is also developed based on Indonesia’s needs and context. Support for Bahasa Indonesia Large Language Models, strengthened data security, and the use of infrastructure built and operated domestically reflect Telkom’s commitment to supporting digital transformation while strengthening AI sovereignty and national digital sovereignty.
