PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) is accelerating its digital transformation by expanding services to local market ecosystems to bring Sharia banking closer to all customer segments (12/01).
BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo said, "We continue to improve Sharia financial literacy and inclusion across Indonesia, including through the expansion of BSI service networks. This year, we are targeting traditional market ecosystems with the launch of Lapak BSI for markets and SMEs."
Lapak BSI Offers Comprehensive Sharia Services
Lapak BSI provides various Sharia services, including account opening, gold services such as installments and pawn, Bank EMAS through BYOND, Sharia microcredit (KUR) financing, Sharia banking consultation, business matching, collaboration with BSI agents, and other transactions.
Anggoro explained that 28 Lapak BSI branches have been opened across Aceh, Medan, Palembang, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Makassar. He added that the initiative not only brings services closer to SMEs but also encourages digitalization in markets and promotes financial literacy, particularly to support the SME sector.
Digital Transformation Strengthens Market Penetration
BSI’s digital transformation has expanded nationally through its EDC and QRIS systems. By November 2025, EDC installations reached more than 21,000 merchants, and QRIS adoption totaled 551,000 across Indonesia. The increase reflects more businesses adopting BSI e-channels and the convenience of competitive and comprehensive services.
Anggoro emphasized, "Digital transformation is a foundation for expanding BSI’s market share. The digitalization of traditional markets is designed to reach communities whose economic activities are centered around markets."
Partnerships Drive the Halal Economy and SME Growth
BSI is also strengthening collaborations with market managers, local governments, and SME communities to enhance the halal economic chain. Selected cities are targeted for developing retail and market ecosystems to improve competitiveness and provide positive economic impact.
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to offering inclusive and modern Sharia banking that creates value for both communities and businesses. Anggoro noted that BSI continues to work with local governments to develop the halal industry and support SME growth through market ecosystems.
