Livin’ by Mandiri Introduces QRIS Tap for Seamless Tap In–Tap Out Transit Access

Bank Mandiri and KAI Group have officially launched the implementation of QRIS Tap In–Tap Out through Livin’ by Mandiri for Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) and LRT Jabodebek (19/11).

The partnership aims to accelerate digital services in public transportation and improve efficiency for urban commuters.

NFC-Based QRIS Tap Provides Faster Access at Station Gates

Bank Mandiri’s Director of Network & Retail Funding, Jan Winston Tambunan, said the QRIS Tap feature allows commuters to tap their phones on the station gate using NFC without needing to top up or scan a QR code manually.

He explained that the integration is designed to strengthen mobility experiences in busy commuter areas and support reliable digital payment systems.

Jan emphasized the goal of simplifying transactions.

"We are promoting QRIS Tap Livin’ by Mandiri to provide a faster and simpler transaction experience. This innovation supports the digital acceleration we are building with partners to expand value for transportation users."

QRIS Tap Expands Across Commuterline and LRT Jabodebek

The feature is now available at all Commuterline gates in Jabodetabek and Solo–Yogyakarta, as well as at LRT Jabodebek.

This rollout complements technology-based mobility services and enhances operational efficiency.

QRIS Tap also serves as an alternative payment method alongside the Multi-Trip Card (KMT).

KAI Commuter President Director Asdo Artriviyanto said, "With QRIS Tap, the public will find it easier to pay for tickets when using public transportation, especially the Commuter Line."

Transport Operators Highlight Benefits of Additional Payment Options

LRT Jabodebek stated that having more payment choices strengthens its support for the national digital payment system.

Executive Vice President Mochamad Purnomosidi said, "With the presence of QRIS Tap, we hope the payment options become more varied and provide a more comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for LRT Jabodebek users."

Bank Mandiri is offering up to 50% cashback for QRIS Tap transactions through Livin’ by Mandiri at KCI and LRT Jabodebek in the early phase.

Several high-traffic stations have also been equipped with Livin’ signage to guide users.

Growing QRIS Transactions Support Broader Digital Payment Adoption

By September 2025, QRIS Livin’ transactions reached 878 million with a value of Rp 123.5 trillion, growing 103% year-on-year.

This trend reflects increasing adoption of contactless payments and provides momentum to expand QRIS Tap into additional sectors.

Jan said this growth supports the expansion of the bank’s digital payment ecosystem.

"This growth shows the public’s need for more practical payment methods. We will continue expanding collaborations so QRIS Tap can support daily activities more comprehensively."

He added that Livin’ by Mandiri enables users to access integrated digital financial services across mobility and lifestyle needs.

"Digital transaction innovation is part of our commitment to provide secure, relevant, and future-oriented solutions. With consistent synergy, we aim to ensure all Bank Mandiri services deliver added value to the public and strengthen the spirit of advancing the nation."
