Pilot Project with BTN Halted Due to Income Fluctuation
In 2018, Gojek partnered with PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. (BBTN) to launch a pilot project for Housing Ownership Credit (KPR) targeting Gojek’s partner drivers. However, the program stalled due to challenges with the drivers' inconsistent income levels.

According to Patrick, one major challenge lies in the fact that Gojek drivers are categorized as informal workers, which complicates mortgage approval processes. “Actually, since 2018, we started a program called Swadaya to help our partners own homes. But as the Minister said, the number remains limited,” Patrick stated on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Gojek Proposes Daily Income Deduction for Mortgage Payments
Patrick added that Gojek is continuing discussions with BTN on developing a sustainable mortgage system. One proposed method involves automatically deducting a portion of drivers’ daily income, which would then be saved and applied toward monthly mortgage installments. “That way, it can become monthly installments or mortgage payments,” he explained.
