In a significant move towards bolstering Indonesia's agricultural sector, Pemuda Tani Indonesia is set to host its 2025 National Working Meeting (Rakernas) at the Jakarta Convention Center from February 21 to 23. Themed "Sovereign Food, Advanced Indonesia," this gathering underscores the organization's dedication to supporting President Prabowo Subianto's vision of national food self-sufficiency.

Bahtiar Sebayang, the Chairman of the Rakernas II and Head of Organizational Affairs for Pemuda Tani Indonesia, emphasized the pivotal role of youth in agriculture. He stated, "Food self-sufficiency is a strategic step towards national sovereignty. We believe that with the support of innovative young generations, this aspiration will be realized."

The meeting's agenda is comprehensive, focusing on several strategic programs:

  1. Enhancing Youth Interest in Agriculture: Initiatives will include education and training programs designed to produce competent and competitive young farmers.
  2. Adoption of Modern Agricultural Technology: There's a strong push to integrate smart technologies to boost agricultural productivity.
  3. Development of Village Food Barns: In collaboration with local governments, Pemuda Tani aims to establish self-sufficient food storage facilities, aligning with presidential directives.
  4. Partnerships with Government and Private Sectors: Efforts will be made to strengthen collaborations to expedite the distribution of fertilizers, superior seeds, and ensure fair market access for farmers.

Bahtiar further highlighted, "The involvement of the younger generation in agriculture is key to ensuring the nation's food security. Pemuda Tani Indonesia is ready to provide full support for all central and regional government programs."

The Rakernas II is anticipated to produce strategic recommendations for the government, including accelerating agricultural infrastructure development, optimizing productive land use, and providing capital access for young farmers.

Bahtiar expressed confidence that synergy between the government, youth organizations, and the community can lead Indonesia towards sustainable food self-sufficiency. He concluded, "With the spirit of mutual cooperation, food sovereignty is no longer a dream but a vision we will soon realize for the Indonesian people."
