Sinarmas Partners with Telkom to Strengthen Digital Connectivity

In a significant move for Indonesia’s digital landscape, MyRepublic, a subsidiary of the Sinar Mas Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with PT Telkom Infrastruktur Indonesia (TIF), a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia. This collaboration aims to enhance the country's Fiber to the Home (FTTH) services and bring high-quality internet access to more Indonesian households.

The agreement was formalized on December 16, 2024, at the Telkom Landmark Tower, Jakarta. I Ketut Budi Utama, Director of TIF, and Timotius Max Sulaiman, CEO of MyRepublic, signed the deal. This strategic partnership is in line with both companies' commitment to improving digital infrastructure and expanding broadband services throughout Indonesia.

I Ketut Budi Utama emphasized that this collaboration is essential for enhancing the quality of services in the telecommunications industry. “This partnership with MyRepublic is a testament to our shared vision of providing high-quality services to the Indonesian public, and it supports our broader goal of accelerating digital transformation across the nation,” said Utama.

This partnership is also a stepping stone for TIF’s expansion into Indonesia's telecommunications market, contributing to the country’s wholesale digital infrastructure development.

The agreement outlines that TIF will provide FTTH infrastructure capable of delivering speeds of up to 500 Mbps with a 1:1 upload and download bandwidth ratio. TIF’s commitment to supporting national fiber connectivity is demonstrated by its regulatory licenses, including the operation of fixed local networks and closed fiber optic networks.

Timotius Max Sulaiman, CEO of MyRepublic, also spoke about the significance of the partnership. “This is a strategic step for us as we expand MyRepublic's services across Indonesia. As 'Pride of Indonesia,' we are committed to providing the best internet services as a digital solution to support the activities and productivity of the nation,” said Sulaiman.

The partnership ensures that MyRepublic can further strengthen its network while staying true to its mission of offering high-quality, unlimited fiber-optic internet with symmetric upload and download speeds. In addition to internet services, MyRepublic also provides high-quality TV channels and streaming platforms like Vidio, WeTV, Vision+, Genflix, and B-station.

With the commencement of TIF’s commercialization phase, the collaboration is expected to deliver a more efficient and high-quality connectivity solution, which can be shared with other parties through network-sharing models. This allows customers to provide high-speed internet services without the need for building their own infrastructure.

Since August 2024, TIF has successfully operated TelkomGroup’s network through a Managed Service Agreement (MSA). Now, TIF is focusing on wholesale customer offerings while continuing to explore strategic collaborations that contribute to the development of telecommunications infrastructure.

Both MyRepublic and TIF are confident that this partnership will not only speed up the development of modern, inclusive digital infrastructure but also help build a more connected future for Indonesia. The companies hope that their collaboration will have a positive and lasting impact on the country’s digital transformation.
