Ministry of Industry Launches IHYA 2026 as Indonesia Expands Global Halal Industry Ambitions

The Ministry of Industry has officially opened registration for the Indonesia Halal Industry Awards (IHYA) 2026, an annual awards program that recognizes innovation, creativity, and collaboration in advancing Indonesia’s halal industry ecosystem and strengthening its global competitiveness (19/06).

Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza said Indonesia has a major vision of becoming a global halal industry hub. He noted that the halal product market, both domestically and internationally, continues to grow significantly and has the potential to become a new driver of national economic growth.

“We hope that more industry players will participate in IHYA 2026. Through this event, we want to recognize business actors who continue to innovate and contribute to the development of the national halal industry. Their success proves that Indonesian halal products not only excel in quality but also possess strong added value and competitiveness at the global level,” said Faisol Riza in Jakarta on Friday.

IHYA 2026 Adds Two New Award Categories

This year, IHYA introduces two new categories: Best Higher Education Institution Supporting the Halal Industry and Best Management Institution of Small and Medium Industry Centers Supporting the Halal Industry.

According to the Ministry of Industry, the new categories highlight the importance of collaboration among government, businesses, and academic institutions in strengthening the industrial foundation, particularly in the small and medium industry sector.

IHYA 2026 will present 22 awards across seven categories, including large industrial companies, small and medium industrial companies, industrial estate companies, management institutions of small and medium industry centers, government institutions, higher education institutions, and financial service institutions.

The awards are intended to recognize contributions and innovations that support the development of Indonesia’s halal industry.

Program Supports Mandatory Halal Certification Readiness

IHYA 2026 is also expected to increase awareness and readiness among industry players ahead of the implementation of mandatory halal certification on October 18, 2026.

The requirement will apply to several strategic sectors, including food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods such as textiles and textile products, footwear and leather products, as well as tableware and glassware.

Previous Edition Drew More Than 1,000 Participants

The previous IHYA program attracted 1,031 participants, reflecting strong interest among industry players in the development of the national halal industry.

Through IHYA 2026, the Ministry of Industry expects more industry stakeholders to participate and benefit from stronger networking opportunities, capacity development, and recognition for their contributions to Indonesia’s halal ecosystem.

Registration is open from June 18 to July 24, 2026, free of charge.

“IHYA is a momentum for transformation. We invite all industry players to participate in supporting the national halal industry ecosystem through IHYA 2026. Together, let us realize Indonesia as a global halal supply chain hub,” Faisol Riza said.
