Indonesia has launched a groundbreaking initiative in partnership with Microsoft to empower one million citizens with artificial intelligence (AI) skills. This program, aimed at enhancing the country's workforce in the digital age, will be delivered through the Indonesian government's Prakerja Program and will specifically focus on young talents and underserved groups. The program’s launch highlights Indonesia's commitment to preparing its population for the future of work, particularly in fields dominated by AI and digital technologies.

The collaboration between Indonesia and Microsoft is designed to provide accessible AI training to individuals, offering them the necessary tools to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven job market. Out of the one million individuals targeted, the program will focus on providing 100,000 participants with core AI knowledge, with 1,000 participants receiving advanced industry-specific training. A further 200 individuals will be given opportunities to participate in boot camps, innovation challenges, and job connection initiatives that link them to potential employers and professionals in the AI field.

As part of the initiative, participants will also have access to Microsoft certifications, which will further increase their employability and provide them with a competitive edge in the job market. With over half of Indonesia's population under the age of 30, the program is expected to have a significant impact, helping to bridge the digital skills gap and stimulate local economies.
