BRI Achieves Highest CGPI 2024 Rating as a “Highly Trusted” Company, How Did It Get There?

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk once again strengthened its position as one of Indonesia’s best-governed companies after receiving the “Highly Trusted” rating at the Indonesia Trusted Companies 2025 based on the Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) 2024 (01/12).

The award was presented by The Indonesian Institute for Corporate Governance (IICG) in collaboration with SWA Magazine as recognition for the bank’s consistent and sustainable application of Good Corporate Governance (GCG).

Strong Governance Acknowledged Amid Global Economic Challenges

This year, BRI ranked among 25 companies achieving the highest category score, reflecting the bank’s robust governance quality.

The recognition is increasingly relevant as the global economy continues to face challenges, including difficult growth conditions and geopolitical tensions that create greater market uncertainty.

Leadership Highlights Integrity and Organizational Commitment

BRI’s Director of Human Capital & Compliance, A. Solichin Lutfiyanto, emphasized that the award represents the commitment of all BRI personnel in upholding strong governance standards.

“The ‘Highly Trusted’ predicate on CGPI 2024 is the result of the hard work of all BRILian personnel who continue to uphold integrity and GCG principles in every operational activity. For us, governance is not just compliance, but an important foundation to ensure business sustainability and create added value for all stakeholders,” said A. Solichin.

He added that BRI will continue strengthening its organizational capabilities to face increasingly complex future challenges.

“Today’s business context moves very fast and is full of uncertainty. Therefore, BRI continues to strengthen dynamic capabilities and build an adaptive corporate culture to identify new opportunities, innovate, and maintain competitiveness sustainably. Strong GCG implementation is the key to ensuring every step is ethical, measurable, and responsible,” he added.

CGPI 2024 Highlights the Importance of Dynamic Corporate Capabilities

The 2024 CGPI program carried the theme “Building Dynamic Corporate Capabilities within a GCG Framework,” emphasizing the need for companies to adapt to a business environment that is fast-changing, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous.

Amid VUCA conditions, technological disruption, and global dynamics, companies are required to be not only responsive but also proactive in managing resources, identifying opportunities, and strengthening competitive advantages.

This year’s Indonesia Trusted Companies involved 52 companies from seven industry groups.

Participants were evaluated through self-assessments, document reviews, and direct observations involving the Board of Directors, Board of Commissioners, and internal and external stakeholders.

The assessment covered governance structure, governance processes, and governance outcomes, with scoring determined by experts using the Analytical Network Process (ANP). Final results were divided into three categories: Highly Trusted, Trusted, and Fairly Trusted.

BRI Continues to Prioritize Transparency and Accountability

This achievement demonstrates BRI’s commitment to transparency, accountability, integrity, and prudence in all decision-making and business processes.

Through strong governance, BRI aims to maintain sustainable performance while strengthening the trust of shareholders, regulators, and the wider public.
