Telkom’s DigiUp Initiative Earns ESG Positive Impact Honor in Southeast Asia

Telkom Indonesia received regional recognition at the Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025 in Malaysia, following its win at the Lestari Awards 2025 in Indonesia (21/11).

The company advanced to the Asia-level competition after earning first place in the Relations to Local Communities category at the national event.

Growing ESG Focus Across Asia-Pacific

The Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025 assessed sustainability initiatives from companies across Southeast Asia.

The event takes place as attention toward Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles continues to grow.

A global WTW study from 2024 noted that 77% of companies in the Asia-Pacific region have included ESG metrics in executive incentives, a 14-percentage-point increase from the previous year.

Lestari Awards, organized by Kompas Gramedia with EY as its assessment partner, recognize national excellence in Sustainability and CSR program management.

With its DigiUp initiative, Telkom won the Relations to Local Communities category and secured a place in the regional competition.

DigiUp Drives Strong Community Impact

At the Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025, Telkom was evaluated by experts from the Global Business Council for Sustainable Development, EY, and the International Society for Sustainability Professionals.

In this competition, Telkom earned the award in the Relations to Local Communities category.

The win reflects the impact of DigiUp, a program designed to improve digital skills for high school and vocational students across Indonesia.

The initiative offers industry-standard training, national certification, and project-based learning.

Over the past three years, DigiUp has reached 16,197 participants, certified 2,783 graduates, and supported 993 alumni in entering the workforce, including those from remote 3T areas.

An evaluation recorded a Social Return on Investment (SROI) of 1:2.11, meaning every one rupiah invested generated more than two rupiah in social benefits.

“This award is not only a form of appreciation, but also recognition that our efforts in delivering measurable social impact are on the right track. We designed DigiUp as a program that answers the real needs of the community while strengthening Indonesia’s digital talent ecosystem. We ensure that digital transformation does not stop at technology innovation, but truly reaches communities, opens access to opportunities, and builds independence. Going forward, Telkom will continue to expand partnerships and cross-sector collaboration so that the social impact becomes more inclusive, sustainable, and relevant for young people across Indonesia,” said Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager Social Responsibility Telkom Indonesia.

Support for SDGs and National Talent Development

As part of Telkom’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) pillar, DigiUp contributes to the SDGs, especially in quality education, job opportunities, and digital talent development for youth.

Through this achievement, Telkom reaffirms its role as a digital company focused on technology innovation and inclusive, sustainable social contributions aligned with ESG principles.
