Upcoming Omo X Electric Motorcycle, Called the ‘Tesla of Two Wheels,’ Will Launch Soon in Indonesia, What to Expect?

A new player in Indonesia’s electric motorcycle market is set to arrive from China. Omoway’s first product, the Omo X, is called the ‘Tesla of Two Wheels’ due to its smart car-like technology and will soon be sold in Indonesia.

The Omo X made its debut locally in June, but detailed information about its features and technology was limited. Now, Omoway is gradually revealing more about this vehicle.

Omoway's Vision: Smart Riding for All

Omoway’s General Manager, Yulong Chen, claims the Omo X is one of the most advanced electric motorcycles ever introduced in Indonesia.

“This smart electric motorcycle is designed for all riders in Indonesia, not just for technology enthusiasts. The goal is to provide a smarter, more comfortable, and safer riding experience for everyone,” Chen said in an official statement on Friday (September 26).

Advanced Features That Set Omo X Apart

Unlike other motorcycles that need a key or remote to start, the Omo X powers on by activating Bluetooth and bringing a smartphone close to the bike’s body.

The motorcycle also includes a large dashboard screen displaying important information such as real-time routes, battery levels, and locations of charging stations.

Omoway has also highlighted additional advanced technologies, such as self-driving and automatic parking capabilities.

Security Innovation with Smart Connectivity

The Omo X features an anti-theft system that detects suspicious movements. If unusual activity occurs, the bike automatically locks and sends an alarm notification to the owner’s smartphone.

Additionally, if someone borrows the bike, they do not need a physical key. Vehicle access can be granted through authorized accounts in Omoway’s official application.

What to Expect Before the Official Launch

Details on battery capacity, charging time, and top speed remain undisclosed. However, the Omo X will use a Lithium battery.

“We will announce product availability, pricing, and vehicle dimensions in the first half of next year. We are also committed to providing after-sales service and a retail network to meet user expectations,” said Yulong Chen.
