The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) brought technology to the streets during the 80th Independence Day Carnival of the Republic of Indonesia.

Under the theme “Digital Transformation, Realizing an Advanced Indonesia,” the ministry unveiled the Truk Karnaval Kemkomdigi, a digitally themed parade truck that participated in the night parade from Monas to the Semanggi area, Jakarta.

The vehicle featured digital ornaments representing Indonesia’s technological advancements, including a miniature 4G base transceiver station (BTS), the SATRIA-1 satellite, and a robot powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that walked alongside the truck, drawing attention from the crowd along the route.

A Moving Showcase of Public Digital Education

At the front of the truck stood a giant smartphone displaying educational messages about child protection in digital spaces.

This served as a public campaign for Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP TUNAS).

Kemkomdigi positioned the float not merely as a decorative element but as a meaningful public education platform.

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid emphasized this intent during her visit to the parade’s starting point at Lapangan Silang Monas.

“Through the Kemkomdigi Carnival Truck, we want to show that digital transformation is not just technological innovation, but a shared journey toward a more advanced, inclusive, and just Indonesia,” said Meutya on Sunday (17/08/2025).

National Priority Programs Represented Visually

The parade vehicle also presented visual elements of key national priority programs, including:

  • Free Nutritious Meals (MBG)
  • Food and Energy Self-Sufficiency
  • Free Health Checks (CKG)
  • People's School
  • Red-and-White Cooperatives
  • 3 Million Subsidized Homes

These programs were symbolized through the participation of young professionals on the truck: a young chef represented MBG, a young farmer symbolized food self-sufficiency, and a young healthcare worker represented CKG.

Their presence illustrated that digital transformation must align with the real needs and welfare of the people.

Kemkomdigi’s Message for Indonesia’s Future

Minister Meutya Hafid reiterated the broader vision behind the ministry's involvement in the celebration.

“Independence has given us the space to be sovereign, and digital transformation gives us the opportunity to move forward together. With the spirit of the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, let us make digitalization the path toward Golden Indonesia 2045,” she said.
