BRI Distributes Rp1.72 Trillion in Wage Subsidy Assistance to 2.8 Million Workers Across Indonesia

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) has distributed Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) totaling Rp1.72 trillion to 2.8 million worker accounts as part of the 2025 government program.

The initiative aims to support public purchasing power and stimulate economic activity toward mid-year.

As the appointed BSU distribution bank, BRI carried out the assistance in three phases using data provided by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker).

Three-Stage Distribution Reaches Millions of Beneficiaries

The 2025 BSU was delivered in the following three phases:

  • Phase 1: 1.1 million accounts, Rp695.46 billion
  • Phase 2: 803,000 accounts, Rp481.95 billion
  • Phase 3: 919,000 accounts, Rp551.81 billion

In 2020, BRI had disbursed BSU to around 1.4 million workers. In 2022, the number rose to 3.2 million workers with a total of Rp1.92 trillion.

Digital Access and Nationwide Network Enable Efficient Distribution

BRI Corporate Banking Director Riko Tasmaya said the assignment aligns with BRI’s role as an agent of development.

“We thank the government for entrusting BRI with the BSU distribution. Through our extensive network and the use of digital banking platforms such as BRImo and AgenBRILink, BSU distribution can be done more efficiently and reach all levels of society,” he said.

Beneficiaries can access funds via Super Apps BRImo, 742,000+ BRI e-Channels, and 1.19 million AgenBRILink units throughout the country.

BSU Supports Workers with Low Wages and Honorary Teachers

BSU is a government incentive introduced by President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen public purchasing power.

The assistance provides Rp300,000 per month, distributed in a single payment.

The program targets 17 million workers earning up to Rp3.5 million per month, equivalent to the minimum provincial or district/city wage.

An additional 3.4 million honorary teachers are also eligible for the Rp300,000 assistance.

BRI Continues Supporting Strategic Government Programs

Riko stated that BRI’s success in distributing BSU demonstrates effective collaboration between the government and the banking sector.

“As a bank focused on empowering the MSME segment, BRI continues to support strategic government programs to achieve financial inclusion and sustainable social welfare,” he said.
